Senior Send Off!

2019-2020 FCHS Choir Students and Parents,

We know it’s now officially summer, but we have a bit of “unfinished business” in the FCHS choir program!  We sadly didn’t get to finish out our season in the normal fashion –  we didn’t get to clean out our garment bags and pods,  we didn’t get that last chance to sing together, and we didn’t get to officially say goodbye to the class of 2020!  Obviously, things are different now – but we still want to do those things in the best way circumstances allow! So, this next Wednesday, July 8 we will be hosting our first ever Senior Send-Off!  Yes, this will be completely different than we are used to.  We’ve been asked to meet outside, do our best to social distance, and be very brief in our get together – but that doesn’t mean it can’t be special!  So please join us – we would love all members of the 2019-2020 choir family to join us (students and their families!).

Ovations Parents and Students
2020 Ovations parents and students should turn in any Ovations outfits and pick up any left items from last school year.  We ask that you please try and get in touch with all 2020 Ovations members to have them turn in any choir related costuming at the send off.  Incoming Freshman students may bring other student’s outfits.  We just would like to try and get as much collected as possible and turned in.  You may arrive after 5:30  Please contact Sarah Bennett at sarahbennett1486@gmail.com

READ CAREFULLY:

PARKING: please park in the Performing Arts Center Parking lot (NOT the choir/band parking lot by door 52!!)

5:30 pm – Seniors, come before the 6:30 pm get-together so you can get your pods/garment bags cleaned out and then just enjoy the rest of the night!

6:30 PM  EVERYONE ELSE arrive.  SENIORS who had their pictures taken for senior banners – we will have your senior banners there.  Find your banner right away and assign a family member/friend to hold it up for you during our tunnel and song.   (remember that ONLY seniors who chose to attend the picture day for banners will receive a banner!)

Our schedule will then proceed as follows:

1 – we will start by gathering in the parking lot East of the choir doors (outside door 52) to hear a few end-of-the-year remarks from our directors
2 -SENIOR TUNNEL: parents/ family members will form a tunnel for our class of 2020 to run through while we cheer them on
3 -All choir students will then circle up to sing “Lord Bless” one more time as the FCHS 2019-2020 choir!
4 – We will then start to pass out a simple treat while Freshman head to the grass area near door 52 to check-in their costumes.  Once Freshman are done taking care of their costumes- they can go get a treat and we will call for Sophomores, then Juniors to come check-in their costumes.

VITAL NOTE: we have been asked to maintain social distancing and to not congregate in groups!  Please help us make sure that happens! Our administration is trying to work with us to allow this event to happen.  We need to respect and follow their wishes and show them that they can trust us to make good decisions and follow their instructions (this may go a long way as they are making decisions on how we can move forward in choir for this coming school year!)  Also, all in attendance will need to have a mask and be prepared to wear it when in close proximity to others like the tunnel and when doing costume check.

PARENTS:  we need help checking in costumes!   If you are willing to help, please email Jeni Hoban at Jeni_4@comcast.com to let her know !  Thank you!!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COSTUME CHECK-IN

-ALL CHOIR STUDENTS MUST DO THIS!  If you will not be at our June 8 activity, you need to assign a friend to check in your costumes for you, and email me to let me know who will be doing it for you!  (debbiebaldridge5@gmail.com)

– Seniors – please come at 5:30 so you can get this done before the activity
-You will line up, 6 feet apart from each other, to wait your turn.  Only one person may be at a rack or pod at a time.

-CONCERT CHOIR BAGS: Seniors need to clean out your entire garment bag: turn in concert choir clothes and any shoes you may have borrowed (if you own concert choir shoes and want to donate them to the choir, we would love it!).  Underclassmen:  Take personal items out of garment bags.  LEAVE concert choir attire in the garment bag!!

-SHOW CHOIR: When it is your turn at the pod, quickly get ALL your items and walk away from the pod.   FOLD each item, take it to the designated bin, have the volunteer at that bin check off the item you are turning in (make sure you do this so you aren’t held accountable for non-returned items)!
– Please do this all very quickly and be patient -it will take some time!

-SENSATIONS GIRLS: you MUST return your boots!  If you do not turn in boots at the Senior Send-off, you will need to pay $27 for them THAT NIGHT!

We can hardly wait to see all of you, and to hear you SING!!  Come next Wednesday!
